The article shows that one of the problematic complications in well drilling in the Republic is the drilling mud loss. For water-loss control the authors have developed a new high efficient agent - modified natrium-naphtanate lignosulphate, which thins up and stabilizes the drilling mud. The application of this agent makes possible decreasing the drilling mud density to 300 kg/m3. The ratio and firmness of the drilling mud have been investigated on the basis of the new natrium-naphtanate lignosulphate agent. It was shown that the drilling mud on the basis of natrium-naphtanate lignosulphate has high inhibitor property in regard to the easily dispersing and swelling clay rocks.
