The article is devoted to the physical-chemical characteristics of Absheron oil related to the same oil-gas bearing region, as well as the yield and quality of oil fractions separated from this petroleum. It is shown that the oil fractions from petroleum (over 3000 C), as all oil fractions from Azerbaijan petroleum are characterized by low viscosity index and pour point. The comparison of oil fractions from Absheron petroleum with oil fractions of Absheron oil-gas bearing region petroleum justified that low indexes of oils are connected with the chemical composition of aromatic hydrocarbons (average and heavy), included in the oil fractions differing with quite low viscosity indexes till the negative value.
