Specification of parameters of drill bit and hydro-reamer for sidetracking in long-developed fields

The paper presents the technical characteristics and quality indicators of bicentric PDC drill bit with steel body for simultaneous drilling and underreaming of vertical and directional oil and gas wells. The lack of moving parts in the reamer prevents their loss in the well. The drill bit may also be applied for the headway of rocks with medium hardness with solid interlayers via wash-out or clay mud. In sidetracking the drill bit with hydro-reamer is used. PDC drill bit application made possible to achieve not only the headway rate increase, but also a dramatically decrease of run quantity, which, in its turn, enabled to save time of headway for each well.
