The article presents the results of the study on optical activity of the components of Neftchala and Garabaghly oils from the Lower Kura depression. The studied oils were dispersed at 50 °C fractions. Obtained narrow fractions were divided into two separate groups by nonpolar and polar solvents with liquid adsorption chromatography: naphthene-paraffinic and aromatic hydrocarbons. The physical-chemical properties and the optical activity of naphthenic-paraffinic hydrocarbons were researched. The values of the optical activity of fractions examined were measured at different wave lengths on the apparatus “Perkin-Elmer - 140”, “Polamat A” and the Cotton effect of the studied fractions was determined in dichrograph SKD 2. Most optical activity was found for the concentrate of naphthenic-paraffinic hydrocarbons boiling at the temperature above 350 °C.
