Via analyzing and synthesizing the existing geological-geophysical data, the article considers the studies on tectonic history of Middle Kura depression in Archaic-Anthropogenic period, as well as the regime and direction of tectonic movement in certain time and place, sedimentation basins and denudation areas, structural-formation features of sedimentosphere, oil-gas formation and conditions of oil-gas accumulation, formation of separate traps for accumulation of formed hydrocarbons and their migration and directions. While definition of lithosphere in the Caucasus, the actual data and existing paleo-tectonic research works have been analyzed in detail and synthesized. The reason for formation ruggedness, prevalence of volcanites along the activated fissures, the formation of latest structural elements of Middle Kura depression have been considered. It was justified that tectonic sphere of the studied region was of the continental type and its modern delamination and lateral homogeneity is the consequence of the oceanization process.
