With increasing of depth in wells operated by sucker-rod pumps due to the extension and shortening of the pipes and pumps under the impact of hydrodynamic processes and shock, the underground equipment fails prematurely, which, in its turn, leads to the turnaround time decrease. To reduce the loading on the horsehead while increasing the setting depth of the sucker- rod pump, several changes have been made in the structure of the pump unit, namely, a hydro- mechanical shifting mechanism developed. Applying of the offered unit enables reducing dramatically the loading on the pump and energy consumption.
