While continuous exploitation in high humidity and temperature conditions lubricating oils are subjected to biodistruction. This leads to the changes in their exploitation properties. The paper presents the results of microbiological tests of lubricating oil composition of M-8 alkylphenol additives in regard to the major physiological groups of microorganisms damaging of lubricants. To protect the lubricating compositions from biodestruction, -phenyl--nitroethen and -furyl--nitroethen were researched as biocides. It was defined that alongside with biostability increase the mentioned biocides do not deteriorate their exploitation properties.
