The analysis of drilling experience in operating wells in conditions of abnormally low formation pressure

The main problem in the drilling of wells in old, depleted areas of Azerbaijan onshore is the abnormally low formation pressure. Herewith, occurs another significant issue – the reduction of hydraulic pressure to the downhole and borehole wall. For the elimination of mentioned problems, it is offered to use foam systems containing sodium salt, sulphonic acids of gassipol acid, potassium salt of sulphonated fatty acids, surfactant additives derived from various petroleum acids from Azerbaijan oils and etc. The necessity of usage of gas-booster pumps in well drilling in conditions of abnormally low formation pressure is proved. Drilling pumps equipped with compressor chambers enable to conduct drilling in conditions of drilling mud loss without complications.
