Regional structural-tectonic features of North-West part of Absheron archipelago
A.M. SuleymanovWithin Absheron archipelago among Mesozoic Paleogene-Miocene and Pliocene-Anthropogenic complexes occurs the presence of discordant bedding. Also certain grouping is observed in the location of anticlinal structures of North Absheron and Absheron-Pribalkhanian uplift zone. Goshadash, Garbi Absheron, Absheron kupesi and Aghburun-deniz anticlinal structures located at the north-west part of North Absheron upheaval zone are sharply presented through the Pliocene-Anthropogenic complex, and Khazar, Gilavar, Arzu and etc. located at the west-east part of this zone are buried folds. Within the studied area of Absheron-Pribalkhanian uplift zone is allocated a group of Darvin kupesi – Pirallahy adasy – Gurgan-deniz – Khali-Jilov adasy – Neft Dashlary folds, which are complicated by the regional and numerous local faults. The sediments of Pliocene-Anthropogenic complex are eroded in the arched part of folds in specified groups (down to the bottom of Productive Series) to a variable degree. Janub and Janub-2 uplifts located at the distant embedding of Darvin kupesi – Pirallahy adasy – Gurgan-deniz fold group, are considered to be buried folds by the sediments of Anthropogenic complex.
