Efficiency of multilateral horizontal wells and calculation of their performance
M.Kh.YusifovIn relation to the economic inexpediency of development of fields with low formation pressure via vertical and horizontal wells, the topic of further extraction of residual oil by drilling horizontal wells becomes actual. For a long term, the main method of oil and gas recovery from productive reservoirs was the drilling of fields by the system of vertical wells and their exploitation. In most cases, completing of productive reservoirs via vertical borehole was reasonable as in general, their filtration and capacity parameters as well as steadiness allowed operating wells with economically acceptable recovery rates. However, in some cases completing of reservoirs via vertical borehole lead to the low recovery rates, fast flooding of well, insignificant coefficient of fluid recovery, as well as the deformation and destruction of bottomhole zone while creating depression higher that it is acceptable. The calculations justify that in comparison with vertical wells, the performance increases in several times while completing productive reservoirs via horizontal wells. The paper also presents the calculations based on the data of Pirallahy, Balakhany, Bibiheybat fields and shown that performance of horizontal wells is higher that the recovery rate of vertical ones.
