Comparison of oil-gas reserves of Productive Series and Redstone formation rocks of Pliocene
A.Y. KabulovaSouth Caspian depression represented earlier by large basin of sedimentation has been developing up to now. This depression covers the southern part of Caspian Sea and is restricted by Western Turkmenia from the east, and from the west by Low Kura depression. Productive Series (PS) regionally widens along Azerbaijan is the major oil-gas bearing object. Redstone formation (RF) is the stratigraphic analogue of PS within Turkmenia shelf and widens within eastern boards of Caspian Sea. Therefore, hydrocarbon reserves of PS and RF one more time note to the fact that Pliocene sediments of South Caspian depression are rich with the prospective hydrocarbon reserves. Hydrocarbon reserves and PS resources are for two times more than those of RF.
