The paper deals with the results of works on isolation of reservoir water via hydrodynamic method in flooded sucker-rod pump wells in “South wrinkle” field of “Absheronneft” OGPB. As a water shut-off agent was used dead oil gathered in the fields, at the same time the rules of selection watered sucker-rod pump wells shown, the methods of calculation of required dead oil capacity and the radius of its penetration into the formation presented. After the injection of dead oil into the formation and well completion, in the new regime it is recommended to calculate in advance the length of repeated well drowning; if it is in hours or days, then in these wells hydrodynamic isolation method is not applied. When repeated drowning starts, the well returns to its previous condition and this measure is subsequently carried out with the same technology and analogical cycles last until the end of field development. With the reduction of water rate, the amount of water remained in the formation increases. The dead oil increasing fluid for a long time remains in the formation and this promotes desirable effect.
