Main reasons for the deterioration of drilling mud rheological properties and their preventing while drilling permeable rocks

While drilling permeable rocks providing рwell>рformation as a result of cations diffusion from the formation into the well, rheological parameters of the drilling mud deteriorate. For the recovery of viscosity and gel strength of drilling mud based on the analysis, the types of cations from formation are defined. For prevention of mentioned complications, exchange cations are added into the drilling mud and in equal concentrations of ions, diffusion in the drilling mud does not take place in formation.
