Theoretical and practical basis of corrosion protection of oil-field equipment

The paper reviews the reasons of corrosion process occurring, as well as theoretical and practical basis of technologies, methods, ways and measures of corrosion protection of oil field equipment in a new context of scientific researches. The main strategy of corrosion protection lies in the removing of aggressive substances from the systems, creating a barrier between aggressive medium and metal surface and directing the metal to the negative side (cathodic protection). A new multi-purpose corrosion inhibitor has been developed based on domestic raw of oil processing industry. For revealing inhibitor anti-corrosion properties, laboratory and field tests have been carried out.
