Garadagh oil field is considered one of the prospective areas by its Miocene sediments. In the result of long-term researches, it was justified that in Miocene section of this field participate two sandy horizons – diatom and sand horizon in its upper parts. Good reservoir properties of these sandy assise – porosity 5-20 %, and permeability – 1-30 mkm2 have been revealed. Main oil-gas potential is connected with the sediments of Meotian, Sarmatian, Karagan, Chokraka and partially Maikop. The types of rocks are porous and fissured. The prospects of Miocene sediments in Garadagh area have not been studied thoroughly and require conducting of further surveys.
