It is well known that in Umbaki fold have been revealed: oil deposit in I horizon of Chokrak and oil - gas deposit in III horizon of Upper Maikop deposits. These deposits were brought into development in 1951. Chokrak and Maikop sediments have not been penetrated by drilling (2 deep wells drilled to upper section of Diatom) in Utalgi area. However, carried out seismic surveys justify the presence of Chokrak and Maikop sediments in geological section of this area. The analysis of test results, well production, core data and comparison of well logs across Umbaki area show that the thickness of sand formations and reservoir parameters of these horizons are maintained eastwards in the direction of Utalgi field. This data serves as a basis for predicting commercial oil-gas content of studied horizons in Utalgi area. In the view of bedding in 4000–4500 m depth of Chokrak and Maikop sediments within Utalgi fold, gas-condensate deposits (supposedly with oil bank) are forecasted.
