Using polymers in wells flooding control

The paper deals with summary analysis of research results concerning the properties of polymer solutions and mechanisms of water inflows limitation during their using. Thereby, specific features of polyacrylamide and hydrolyzed polyacrylonitrile widely applied in various oil production processes have been reviewed. The dependency of shearing strength and speed gradient has been analyzed and their models developed. Dependence of rate of shearing strength change and effective viscosity of polymeric systems from their concentration has also been analyzed and mathematical models developed.
