The identification of new buried anticline structures on the shallow shores of Absheron peninsula, particularly within Productive Series of its regional oil-gas bearing Middle Pliocene has a practical significance. The study of folding processes nature and formation of separate structures based on paleotectonic maps justified that to the beginning of Productive Series sediment deposition in this region, potential folds were already outlined on the basin of Pontian stage. Herewith, a new deep-seated buried anticline upheaval with west-east trend separating from north-west Zira structure with a shallow arch was revealed based on paleotectonic maps analysis. New subsurface anticline structure called Shahdili is viewed in the lower suites of Productive Series and fades out in the upper direction. It is reasonable to sink the first prospect well on the lower section of Productive Series on its north-east wing.
