Prognosis evaluation of oil-gas bearing content in Ajhinour region of Azerbaijan based on geological-geochemical data

KocharliThe paper deals with the prognosis evaluation of hydrocarbon potential of Paleogene-Miocene rocks and its realization degree in Ajhinour region in Azerbaijan based on the generalization and analysis of up-to-date geological-geophysical surveys and the results of geochemical studies in adjacent oil-gas bearing regions. Based on the results of these investigations, the territory zoning of Ajhinour region on oil and gas potential prospects has been carried out: the central and south-eastern parts of the region are recommended for oil exploration in the Oligocene-Miocene sediments, and the north-western part (probably lower) - in the Eocene rocks.
