The paper reviews the role of geological and structural-tectonic aspects in formation of oil and gas deposits. In the context of three – Khassi-Messaud, Yurubcheno-Tokhom and White Tiger deposits located in Algeria, East Siberia and South Vietnam correspondingly, characterized with various geological-tectonic features, the researchers explain the formation of deposits with the tectonics of crystalline basement. In the context of three fields located in the environs of different oil-gas bearing regions of Azerbaijan, the authors justify that for formation of the deposits the structural-tectonic features of the faulting play the major role; herewith the main reason is still the cycle rhythms of various natures and orientation.
