Foaming agent with anticorrosion property
S.E. AbdullayevAnnual material losses as well as the number of fire victims are steadily increase and reached sizes where fighting against it takes high government priority. Fire protection of oil and petrochemical industry, oil transportation facilities, storages and transfer tank farms mainly provided by application of foaming agents as firefighting tool. Synthetic foaming agents are solutions with surface-active substance (SAS). Foaming agents are rated as low multiplication factor, average multiplication factor and high multiplication factor. Anticorrosion property is one of the most important of the foaming agent. Most of the other foaming agents accelerate the corrosion. Taking this fact into account, we have performed researches to develop the effective tools for firefighting with anticorrosion property and investigated foaming and anticorrosion properties of the developed chemical composition. Base materials of the developed chemical composition are amine complexes of the petroleum acids. For this purpose petroleum acids were distilled and following cuts used 200 - 250, 250-310, 310-385°C. Main parameters of the developed foaming agent are determined according to the GOST R 50588-93 (installation for determination of the multiplication factor and foam stability at average multiplication factor). Researches in fresh water were carried out in 3-6% solvent and 10-12% solvent in sea water. With the aforementioned concentrations foaming agents have very high anticorrosion properties. Taking these results into account further researches were performed with the lower concentration of 300 mg/l and was found that foaming agent has higher than 80% corrosion protection. Thus, this chemical composition appears to be a good foaming agent as well as good anticorrosion inhibitor. Foaming agent provisionally called IPCP-34-2 and arranged production of this agent in the “Caspian Sintez” company.
