Forecasting deformational bands in Pliocene sandstones and their influence on petrophysical properties (in the context of Absheron peninsula outcroppings)
G.A. ZeynalovThe study deals with the quantitative estimation of formation conditions of deformational bands based on field investigations in Yasamal valley outcroppings and laboratory measurements. The study results may be used for prediction of deformational bands formation on similar sandstones of South Caspian basin with steeply dipping strata. The dependences of deformational bands on clay sandstones have been identified based on gamma ray logging and laboratory analysis, as well as on the amount of inclination and effective thickness of the sandstone.
