Specification of demand of drilling enterprises in standby equipment

The construction of operation and exploration well is carried out by drilling organizations in various conditions (onshore and offshore), in different fields and depths as well. Therefore, drilling equipment is often out of service and the demand in standby equipment occurs. Considering the fact that the drilling is a constant technological process and the cost of equipment is quite high, in order to provide the production continuity in practice, broke down equipment is replaced with a new one. The authors offer a specification method for the optimum quantity of standby equipment for the execution of prospective production programs in the context of drilling enterprises of SOCAR. Such setting of the issue creates an opportunity to define the reserves for cost reduction in drilling enterprises.
