IR-spectroscopy survey of used Аddinol Super Light 0546 engine oil
X.N. AlievaThe paper deals with the study of initial, used and regenerated Addinol engine oil via Infrared spectroscopy. It enabled to specify the chemical composition of oil before the exploitation, analyze the changes of group content while operation, as well as after regeneration. The base of used engine oil consists of polyolefins, aliphatic hydrocarbons with long chain branching, organopolysiloxane, and complicated ethers of dicarboxylic acids. The availability of hetero-organic group has been marked. The analysis of Infrared spectroscopy of used engine oil justifies the complication of its chemical composition. The features of group composition of engine oil underwent acid cleaning with chloric acid. The changes characteristic for bisulfates, phosphoric compounds – dissolution of intensive absorption peaks, as well as the bands coinciding with pendular oscillation – (СН2)n – have been specified. This regeneration process allows recovering the structure of initial polyolepfines.
