Experimental investigation of packer swelling process in cementing

Poor cementing leads to the various complications. The great majority of the issues occurring consequently may be solved via the installation of swelling packers in the kick zones of casing string. The paper presents the experiment results on the study of swelling process of water-reacting minipackers in the cement and the feasibility of their usage to improve cementing quality.
