The paper deals with the investigation results on obtaining the samples of 15W-40 type oils from Baku Balakhany petroleum and mixture of less-paraffinic Azerbaijan oils using up-to-date foreign additive packages with low sulphated ash. The qualities of base components of foreign viscous additives (Aclube, Japan) and the concentrates of foreign additives (Lubrizol, USA), as well as the qualities of samples of obtained engine oils (SAE 15W-40) with sulphated ash of 0.68–1.72 % are presented. It is shown that after samples oxidation (by the method of ДК-2НАМИ, 200 oС, 40 hours), the sedimentation quantity was equal to 0.13–0.29 % (at the rate of 0.5 %), and the incremental increase of viscosity in 100 oС comprised 8.9–26.94 %, i.e. they meet the demands and according to API classification, the samples correspond to SE/CC group (G group).
