Range improvement of qualities for lubricants and additives

Data review on the quality improvement of the lubricants and additives justified that there are objective reasons delaying the production of II-IV group base oils and additives in Russia and CIS countries. These are the unavailability of national test system, the limitation of laboratory methods, numerically insignificant quantity of domestic additives for obtaining and test of lubricants of high groups (Г and Д). In the selection of domestic oils, for imported equipment is used the classification of SAE J 300 oils currently accepted in the international scale and engine oils according to the enterprise standards (ТУ) via compounding base oils with foreign additive packages are produced as well. It is shown that via the application of highly-refined M-8 base oil from Baku petroleum (up to 90 %), i.e. from the domestic raw, the additive package (Belarus), viscous additive (Japan) or Lubrizol additive package are obtained 15W/40, 10W/30 oils, the quality of which is on the level of 15W-40 of top quality (including synthetic) SN-150 and VHVI-4 base.
