As a result of geophysical survey in Hovsan field it was revealed that Miocene sediment rocks consist of the alternation of sand and aleurite clays and a small amount of limestone. The clay is predominantly grey, solid sands and aleurites are small-grained. In the geophysical logging survey it was defined that the oil is basically accumulated in the sands and aleurites. Alongside with industrial oil in the well No 1879, a great amount of gas has been obtained as well. The porosity in Miocene rocks in the well No 1867 is equal to 24 % and it fluctuates between 6 and 30 % in the well No 1879, the permeability in both wells varies up to 10 mkm2.
