Characteristics of well stimulation considering skin-factors as a means of productivity stabilization (in the order of discussion)
R.Sh. Salavatova PhD in Tech. Sc. - "Oil-Gas Scientific Research Project" InstituteNumerous research works justified that the main purpose of the stimulation of well operation is the productivity increase via elimination of the damages of bottomhole zone of the reservoir and well. This process occurs directly with creating a kind of structure in the reservoir. Thus, in the field conditions hydraulic fracturing, acid treatment of reservoirs, as well as the cracks (acidic hydraulic fracturing) are applied for the stimulation.
The field studies showed that due to the radial flow character the major part of pressure decrease occurs near the well and at the bottomhole. The analysis justifies that any damage in this area significantly increases the pressure reduction and the effect of the damages may be presented by "skin-factor".
The paper presents more generalized concept of "skin-effect" - one of the idealizations combining the most significant aspects of bottomhole and downhole damages of operation well. These processes create additional resistance, which decreases production. In our view, the well stimulation is productivity increase. In this case, there is a scientific-practical sense to review the stimulation as a method of reducing the "skin-effect" values. The paper offers a new "generalized skin-effect" or "generalized skin factor" parameter, which gives positive effect, i.e. increases the performance and productivity when occurs a negative value.
