The definition of optimum regimes for production of plastic details requires the management of experimental and theoretical studies, the volume of which is significantly increases with the growth of the forms and standard sizes. The organization and management of such studies with the purpose of recommendations development on the production and exploitation of these details may lead to the significant consumption of financial and labor resources.

One of the most efficient ways of reducing mentioned costs is the selection and research of more typical details from the variety set. The paper proposes the method of formal analysis and selection of most relevant details of petroleum engineering from the great majority available.
