Development of optimum СО2 transportation for its storage in geological formations

The sources of a large amount of carbon dioxide emissions into the atmosphere in Azerbaijan have been identified, the volume of burned hydrocarbons and the amount of waste calculated as well. The methods of centralized collection, transportation and disposal of waste from sources on the territory were studied as the main object of research work.

The relevant geological formations existing in Azerbaijan were studied and their gas capacity specified by identifying geological formations for storage of accumulated CO2 gases in underground formations (underground gas storage). The study is based on global experience, real production facilities, new projects, modern technologies and equipment for CO2 collection.
