Device for measurement of density and viscosity to oils and oil products

Density and viscosity of oils and oil products are among important parameters, characterizing their physical-chemical characteristics. So, high accuracy requirements are raised for measurement accuracy of these parameters in automatic control of technological parameters of oils and oil products transportation in a pipe line, and also of petrochemical processes courses. There are various devices realizing known methods the separate measurement of both density and viscosity of the liquids. The principles of operation of most of these devices are based on free falls of the ball in liquids contained in cylindrical vessels. The measurement of the one of these parameters (density or viscosity) by using the existing devices is possible if it is known a value of the other one. However not always it is possible to satisfy these requirements in the course of the specified technological processes. The paper is devoted to problems of the development of a device that allows to simultaneous measuring density and viscosity in process of transportation of oils and oil products in pipe line and in the course of petrochemical processes. It is suggested an approach of simultaneous measuring both these parameters, it is presented a scheme of the device realizing the suggested approach and it is analyzed principle of operation of this device. It is developed a mathematical model of the process of measurement. The obtained results confirm adequacy of this model.
