Cleaning of gas from aggressive components
Yu.Z. Alekperov Cand. in Tech. Sc. - Azerbaijan State University of Oil and IndustryThe paper deals with the issue of removal of hydrogen sulfide, which is an aggressive component from well production recovered in the process of gas lift development in the gas-condensate fields of our country. The analysis of this product justified that the content of hydrogen sulfide fluctuates from 65 to 250 mg/m3 within a year.
Moreover, the amount of carbon dioxide, which is another aggressive component, comprises up to 5 % in most of the gas-condensate fields of Azerbaijan.
The presence of mentioned aggressive components in the content of gas recovered from the subsoil causes serious problems in the production, collection, preparation, and transportation of gas as well.
For the elimination of mentioned aggressive components from the gas composition, the implementation of an adsorption process considering local conditions is suggested. Thus, it is suggested to apply the absorption process with methyl-diethanolamine for cleaning gas from CО2, and the adsorption process with molecular sieves – for cleaning H2S correspondingly.
Suggested cleaning methods have been tested in stand installation in laboratory conditions. Obtained results justified the efficiency of the suggested methods following local conditions.
