Study of characteristics of light products and oily fractions of Azeri oil

The paper presents the studies of the quality of Azeri light oil and its light and oily fractions.

By the density, sulfur, and content of light fractions Azeri oil corresponds to the crude oils and is called Azeri light.

Azeri Light oil contains 30-32 % oily fractions, which boil at more than 350 ^оС temperature.

The implementation of traditional methods of cleaning with a selective solvent with further deparaffinization and hydrotreatment enables to obtain base oils with 4.2–9.0 mm²/s viscosity at 100 ^oС, 91.0–95.8 viscosity index, - 15 ^oС / - 20 ^oС freezing temperature from 50 ^oС oily fractions of Azeri oil.

The treatment of wide 350–500 ^oС oily fraction makes possible the obtainment of base oil with good antioxidizing properties and may be related to II group by API.
