The displacement of Newtonian oil by water in a model of a microchannel of rectangular cross-section is experimentally investigated. Using a microchannel model, it was found that the efficiency of oil displacement by water is significantly influenced by the magnitude of the electrokinetic potential of the system. To regulate the electrokinetic potential, an antistatic additive was used, the optimal concentration of which was established experimentally. The efficiency of immiscible oil displacement was determined at different openness h of microchannels in the absence and presence of additives in water. It was found that a decrease in the electrokinetic potential of the water flow leads to a significant increase in the efficiency of oil displacement from the microcrack.
