The ecological projects of SOCAR

State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) is one of the biggest oil companies in the world. Seismic exploration, drilling, production, processing, transportation, sale of oil, gas and oil products are being realized by the company according to the requirement of international standards. One of the priority spheres of SOCAR is abolishment of ecological disorders which are the heritage to us. These are: reabilitation of the lands which are out of order; restoration of areas; planting greenery; minimizing of influence of industrial process. Especially, principle «Zero waste» in the production, accepted by SOCAR must be indicated. New projects for construction of sea platforms, oil-gas pipelines, stations of accumulation, cleaning, utilization of layer waters are being prepared in qualitative scientific – technological standard. Ecology Institution with American company «MI LLC» has worked on technical – economic basement of project of innovation and expansion of «Operation centre of wastes» situated in Garadagh. One of the priority directions during the activity of SOCAR in 2010 is planting greenery in restored lands after declaration of «Ecological year» in Azerbaijan and also project of creation of «Ecological Park» has been realized in the frame of this program.
