Study of N,S,O-containing compounds as inhibitors of hydrocarbon oxidation

The article is devoted to research on the study of synthesized N,S,O-containing organic compounds as inhibitors of hydrocarbon oxidation. The antioxidant properties of these compounds were studied using the kinetic method and using isopropylbenzene (cumene) as a model hydrocarbon. The study of cumene autoxidation in the presence of these compounds showed that all of them have sufficiently high antioxidant properties. To evaluate the ability of these compounds to terminate the oxidation chains by reaction with peroxide radicals, the oxidation of cumene initiated by azodiisobutyronitrile in the presence of these compounds was studied. The results of the study showed that all the studied compounds, by suppressing cumyl peroxide radicals, effectively terminate the oxidation chains and surpass the widely used antioxidant 2,6-di-tert-butyl-4-methylphenol (ionol) in terms of the kinetic parameters of this reaction.
