Optically active components of oil from the deepwater Gunashli field

The article presents the results of study of deep-water Gunashli oil’s optically active components. Oil is separated into 50 oC fractions, after studying the physicochemical properties of the resulting fractions, they are dearomatized by liquid chromatographic adsorption, as well as polar and non-polar solvents. The physicochemical properties, optical activity and chiroptic properties were studied, as well as the structural composition of the obtained naphthene-paraffin hydrocarbons was studied by IR spectroscopic analysis.
The highest properties of optical activity are observed in naphthene-paraffin hydrocarbons, which boil away in the temperature range of 400–450 oC.
The obtained results are very important in the selection of petroleum components, obtaining their narrow fractions, as well as the identification or isolation of optically active substances.
