Evaluation of enhanced oil recovery methods in the Qarbi (Western) Absheron field based on reservoir model

Sc. - “Oil-Gas Scientific Research Project” InstituteThe application of modern approaches to the selection of enhanced oil recovery methods in fields that are in the initial stage of development is one of the serious factors affecting the efficiency of the process. Taking this into account, using the three-dimensional geological and reservoir models of the productive horizons of the Western Absheron field, the selection of methods of enhanced oil recovery to maintain the production rate of the field and increase the oil recovery factor, as well as the evaluation of the efficiency of these methods, were considered.
Based on geological-geophysical-mining data, geological and reservoir models of the field were constructed, initial geological reserves were evaluated, and the production history was matched in the reservoir model.
Using the reservoir model, the issue of choosing the method of enhanced oil recovery was researced, the processes of water, polymer solution, hot water and steam injection into the layers were modeled, the optimal placement of new production and injection wells was determined, the production performance results of the field were predicted and compared according to various options.
