Degradation of oil taken from Balakhani, Surakhani and Bibi – Eybat oil fields on Absheron peninsula has been investigated. The composition of the oils taken out of the well, soil and water has been defined. It has been determined that the composition of the oils remained on the surjace of scil and water for a long time changes substantially, density of hydrocarbons decreases, density of asphaltenes and pitches increases. Some regularities of the radiation – chemical transformations of these oils are studied. It has been known that especially increase of density of pitch and asphalten in the composition of oil increase its durability against radiation. Influence of radiation on structurally – group content of oil has been studied. Under influence of radiation the increase in a degree of condensation of aromatic rings and reduction of –CH3, –CH2– and –CO-groups have been observed, that is connected with dissipation of radiation energy in functional groups.
