The Bibiheybat field is one of the oldest oil fields in the Soviet Union. The upper horizons of the productive layer emerge at the surface in the center of the field, while the remaining horizons lie deeper. According to information provided by N.I. Lebedev, 24.600 tons of oil were extracted from the Bibiheybat field over 13 years (1834–1846), with an annual production of approximately 2.000 tons. Based on available figures, 33.000 tons of oil were extracted from the upper layer of Bibiheybat solely from open wells, with the production horizons being I-II and II layers. The average daily production of the wells ranged from 1 ton to 8 tons. In 1876, 3.400 tons of oil were extracted. The first oil gusher at Bibiheybat occurred in 1886 at well No. 15. The well was gushing 500 tons of oil per day from the IV layer at a depth of 205 meters. In 1887, 15 wells were in operation from the IV layer, and production reached 188.400 tons.
In total, there are 20 main productive layers and 1710 microblocks in the Bibiheybat field. 884 of them were tested because they were effective. Currently, only 193 of these microblocks are in operation. This is 22.5 % of productive microblocks. As it can be seen, exploitation work is being carried out in a wide area to extract the existing reserve in the field.
From the beginning of development, the realization of the field was carried out on the basis of the prepared project. The main conditions of processing are the following: separation of production of productive objects into base and return horizons; development of basic horizons with wells dug from piers; contour-back, intra-contour, etc., to maintain formation pressure. increasing the production by using irrigation methods, extending the exploitation period by the fountain method and, as a result, accelerating the development rate of the field; it is the continuation of the development and operation of the field by returning the wells from the base horizons to the upper areas after the exploitation has stopped due to geological and technical reasons.
Recently, the drilling of new wells on the field and the application of artificial impact methods on the layers have a positive effect on the development of the oil extraction process.
The development of the deposit is carried out by pier platforms and foundations built up to a depth of 5 m of the sea. The production of 22 horizons has been carried out, as the sediments of the productive layer have oil content.
