The structural-paleotectonic conditions of the Mesozoic sedimentary complex in the Northern Absheron uplift zone

The results of geological-geophysical studies carried out in the field of complex analysis and generalization of seismic materials with well geophysical survey data in the North Absheron uplift area were evaluated.
Based on the analysis of 2D seismic time sections characterizing the morphostructure of the surfaces of the Middle Jurassic, Upper Cretaceous and Eocene sedimentary complexes, it is concluded that traps of non-anticlinal type (lithological-stratigraphic type, etc.) were formed as a result of the upper part of the Cretaceous being washed away and covered by relatively young sediments.
The basin was fed by sediments coming from the Turan platform at the end of the Jurassic period, and by sediments coming from the Turan platform and Karaboğaz elevation during the Eocene period (the study area).
As a result of the research conducted (time sections, structural maps and other data), potential areas were analyzed according to Cretaceous, Eocene and also Miocene sediments.
