Analysis of influence of mobile drilling equipment on the main dimension of Subsea Construction Vessel

Sc. - Marine Engineering Bureau, Ukraine, OdessaWithin the research data on drilling vessels and platforms working in the area of the Caspian Sea were systematized and described. Also the database on drilling vessels of the world fleet was created. The created database, it is intended for determination of dependence of parameters of drilling process and the main dimension of drilling vessels. Was it is created comparison of drilling vessel of the Caspian Sea and the world fleet on dependences of depth of drilling and depth of the sea around carrying out drilling operations. The hind legs of dependences are stood by identity of curves, despite distinction of the working conditions depending on geographical features of the Caspian Sea. The dependence, confirms applicability of parameters from the collected database of the world drilling fleet for the Caspian Sea, when accounting geographical features. Based on the data of the described drilling ships and platforms operating in the Caspian Sea and collected in a database, along with the world fleet's drilling vessels, dependencies were established that reflect the influence of the main parameters of drilling operations and the drilling rig on the principal dimensions of the designed Subsea Construction Vessel, with the provision, as required by the project, for the installation of mobile drilling equipment. From the results of these dependencies, a previously developed nomogram for determining the main dimensions of Subsea Construction Vessel has been supplemented and described. Through the nomogram, the main dimensions of the Subsea Construction Vessel were determined based on the main parameters of the drilling process, sea depth at the drilling point, and drilling depth applicable to the Caspian Sea. By optimizing the obtained values for individual drilling operation parameters, the main dimensions of the proposed Subsea Construction Vessel were formed according to the parameters of the installed mobile drilling rig. Using the conducted researches and the received nomogram of definition of the main dimension of subsea construction vessels, the specification data of the Subsea Construction Vessel, intended to operate as drilling vessels upon the installation of a mobile drilling rig, were described.
