Synthesis of naphthenate-p-chlorobenzoate-, p-nitrobenzoate ethylene glycol esters in the presence of a catalyst – perchlorate acid and their application in the diesel fuel

Sc. - Institute of Petrochermical ProcessesThe article describes the synthesis of naphthenate-p-chlorobenzoate ethylene glycol ester based on p-chlorobenzoic acid and monoesters of NPA in the presence of a catalyst – perchlorate acid at a temperature of 110–120 oC, for 5–6 hours, with a yield of 85.5 %, naphthenate-p-ethylene glycol ester nitrobenzoate based on p-nitrobenzoic acid and monoesters of NPA in the presence of a catalyst – perchlorate acid at 110–
120 oC, for 6–7 hours, with a yield of 85.2 %. The end of state of stability in separated water and acidic mixture quantities. The reaction mixture was cooled to temperature and neutralized in a separatory funnel. The toluene solvent was separated from the ester in a distillation apparatus. Anhydrous ester filters were cleared of other mechanical particles. The physicochemical parameters of the synthesized esters were determined by analytical and spectral methods. The synthesized esters were recognized as antioxidants that increase the thermal-oxidative stability of diesel fuel. Two samples were prepared with the addition of 0.004 % wt. synthesized esters for diesel fuel. Samples made to improve the properties of diesel fuel were tested in the laboratory of “Jet and Diesel Fuels” of the Institute of Petrochemical Processes. The wires were tested on an LSART apparatus at a temperature of 120 oC for 4 hours with a copper plate. According to the result, the presence of esters at 120 oC in the tubes is 0.004 % wt. per 100 ml of diesel fuel; reduce the amount of sediment from 4.1 mg to 1.9 mg and 0.6 mg. The synthesized esters have been tested as antioxidants that increase the thermal-oxidative stability of diesel fuel.
