Prospects for further development of the Chilov Field
D.F. Huseynova Cand. in Tech. Sc. - “Oil-Gas Scientific Research Project” InstituteThe development of oil fields in the late stage is associated with a number of challenges, including tectonic faults, multi-layered structure, heterogeneity of oil-saturated reservoirs, variations in thickness, porosity, and permeability of productive layers across the area and section, as well as complex physicochemical properties of reservoir systems. All of these factors influence the process of developing oil fields that have been in operation for a long time. During this period, there is an accelerated depletion of oil reserves concentrated in highly permeable heterogeneous reservoirs, rapid water cut increase, a decline in oil extraction rates, and uneven oil reserve depletion. All of this leads to significant hydrocarbon losses, reduced oil production efficiency, and increased development costs. Therefore, the task of fully utilizing proven recoverable oil reserves at the late stage of oil field development remains highly relevant.
The article consider the issue of further development of the Chilov field.
Despite the fact that the field has been under development for 66 years, it has been found that in some operating horizons, there are still large volumes of residual recoverable oil reserves. The remaining oil reserves in the field are concentrated in the deferred part of the productive suite (PS). To complete the field development and effectively and fully utilize the remaining recoverable oil and gas resources at its operating facilities, calculation options based on a comprehensive analysis of actual geological and mining-exploitation data were chosen.
The dynamics of technological indicators of field development, distribution of residual recoverable reserves by production horizons, oil production since the beginning of development are given in the article. The results of forecast production calculations are presented in two variants. As a result of economic calculations, the second variant was chosen which provides a more efficient process of additional field development.
