Prospects for the development of oil and gas fields in Neogene-Quaternary, Paleogene, Upper and Lower Cretaceous deposits (using the example of the Bukhara-Khiva and Ustyurt oil and gas regions)

Currently, current problems of search and exploration of sulfur-free gas in the Ustyurt oil and gas region attract much attention from scientists of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The analysis of previous studies on this problem shows that it has not been sufficiently studied. Taking into account today’s capabilities of information and communication technologies and digitalization, it is necessary to conduct an in-depth analysis of the localization of hydrocarbon raw materials in the Ustyurt and Bukhara-Khiva oil and gas regions (BKhNGR), which make it possible to predict the discovery of fields. In particular, as a result of geological exploration work (GRR) on the Kagan uplift of the BKHNGR in the areas of Shopulat, Sayozzhar, Turtkuduk, Zhumael, oil, gas and gas condensate were obtained in the Lower Cretaceous and Upper Jurassic deposits. The Yorkin field was discovered on the Yangikaz-Gan uplift, where gas and condensate were confined to Lower Cretaceous and Upper Jurassic deposits. Therefore, for effective research and exploration, it is necessary to switch to predictive planning based on geological modeling of the formation of oil and gas fields using new innovative methods. In this scientific work, the authors of the article conducted research on an in-depth analysis of the localization of hydrocarbon raw materials in the Ustyurt and BHNG regions, in particular, on the search and exploration of sulfur-free gas in the underlying deposits of the Ustyurt oil and gas region using a new innovative methodology.
