Calculation of a multiphase pipeline considering phase interaction

Sc. - Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry UniversityMultiphase flows (oil and gas, oil–gas–water, gas–solid particles, oil–solid particles, gas–condensate, etc.) are widely encountered in oil and gas field operations. Analysis shows that, compared to single-phase flows, multiphase flows involve higher technological complexities and operational costs. Due to their multiphase nature, the reliability and efficiency of pipelines and lifting systems are significantly lower.
Based on a new physical flow model, the paper demonstrates the possibility of improving the reliability of such systems by taking into account the interaction between phases. Furthermore, it justifies the correct selection of the optimal pipeline diameter for transporting gas–condensate mixtures through subsea pipelines without technological complications, considering the interphase interaction.
