Development and application of new technology for separation of oil from oil sludgs
A.M. Samadov Dr. in Tech. Sc. - “Oil-Gas Scientific Research Project” InstituteIt is known that the separation of oil from oil sludge has great economic and environmental significance. On average, oil sludge contains 20–75 % petroleum products, 5–10 % mechanical impurities and 20–70 % water. Recycling oil sludge prevents environmental pollution from petroleum products. Furthermore, the loss of valuable raw materials is prevented. Based on the study of information from the Internet, domestic and foreign technologies, as well as literary materials, suitable demulsifiers and settling solutions for separating oil from oil sludge were developed. Under laboratory research conditions, the consumption of demulsifier and settling solution was determined. Depending on the cost of new reagents that have successfully passed laboratory tests and the amount of oil sludge processed, high economic benefits will be achieved.
The processing capacity of substances added to oil sludge is high. When emulsifying oil sludge collected at the Dashgil field of the N. Narimanov Oil and Gas Production Department and containing 7.13 % water, 1487 mg/l salt, and 8.5 % mechanical impurities, respectively, the amount of water, salt and mechanical impurities remaining in the oil complied with the requirements of GOST 51858-2002. The consumption rates of demulsifier and settling solution, as well as the process conditions, were determined.
The performance indicators of the formulations that successfully passed laboratory testing were established. The physicochemical properties of the reagents that showed the most effective results in laboratory tests were determined. Based on the tested composition and the proposed technology, field trials are planned for the next stage. The next stage is planned to conduct mining tests based on the tested composition and the proposed technology.
