Study of the effect of anomalous pore pressure on the petrophysical properties of rocks (on the example of the Sangachaly-Bulla-Sea anticlinal belt)
J.S. Abbasov PhD in Soil Sc. - “Oil-Gas Scientific Research Project” InstituteThe article studies the effect of anomalous pore pressure on the petrophysical properties of rocks. For this purpose, first of all, the development characteristics of local processes occurring in connection with the formation and increase of anomalous pressures in well sections were investigated. Then, their nonlinear nature, mutual influence, the number of parameters regulating these processes, and the characteristics of their changes in the well walls under various geotectonic stress conditions were studied.
From the results obtained in the study areas, it is clear that the gradient velocities of the porosity coefficient decreasing and the density increasing depending on the depth decrease with increasing anomalous pore pressure. This process becomes more intensive in layers deeper than 4000 m and at pressures higher than 70 MPa. The greatest change is observed in the Bulla-Deniz field. Here, at a depth of 5509 m, the porosity coefficient increases by 2.730 times at a pore pressure of 110.2 MPa, and the density decreases by 0.880 times.
