Analysis of differences in the performance properties of horizontal drilling of oil and gas wells compared to vertical wells

The article shows that the material resources spent on drilling a well with a vertical well and a horizontal well with a large zenith angle and the amount of liquid fuel to be extracted from these wells are compared.
It is shown that although the material resources spent on drilling the latter are slightly higher, the sharp increase in well production allows, in addition to covering additional costs, to increase the number of wells planned to be drilled in the field several times. A comparison of operational properties also shows that wells with a horizontal well and a large zenith angle have great advantages.
At the same time, the analysis shows that it is easier to place and work with production equipment in vertical wells than in horizontal wells.
